Agility Friends from Far off Places

November 18, 2016

We were very lucky to have a visitor here in North Carolina today. Louise Marsh from New Zealand dropped by to watch us run. We gave her five minutes of instructions and sent her off for a fun and fast JWW course with Viper. It truly is a small world. Shape Up and Justine Davenport brought us together and our love for our dogs will be our forever bond. Thank you Louise for handing my girl so well!!

Wonder what it would cost to have a trial in SoCal in a place like this? We're having fun getting use to running on turf. The building is heated and cooled, has indoor food vendor and full hookups for the RV right behind the building. Agility life is good here in Concord, North Carolina!

A Few Tips

#1

Have fun! This is unequivocally the most important tip to remember. If you and/or your dog are not having fun, it's time to take a pa(ws).

#2

Set small goals! There is so much to learn in this sport and so much to remember while running a course at MACH speed. Focus on honing one specific skill at each practice or trial.

#3

Hit the road! Really. You might be comfortable trialing locally, but it's important to get exposure: new courses, new environments, and new handlers (who are bound to have some helpful feedback for you and your dog).
